GTA 6 physical edition in stores November 10, Rockstar says

Rockstar Games has said the physical edition of GTA 6 will be on sale in stores from November 10, two days earlier than the November 12 date it had given before. The change only affects when you can buy the box, not when the game can be played.

When does the GTA 6 physical edition come out?

Rockstar Games announced on 4 November 2026 that the physical edition of GTA 6 will be available in stores from November 10. The company had previously said the box would reach shops on November 12, so the date has moved forward by two days.

The physical edition is a code in a box. Buying it gets you a download code rather than a disc you can play straight away, so the earlier shop date does not mean the game starts any sooner.

Does the earlier store date change when I can play?

No. The release date for the game itself has not moved, and players still cannot get into GTA 6 before launch. The shift only matters to people who want to pick up the box at retail rather than buy digitally.

Rockstar also brought forward preloading for the digital and code-in-a-box versions from November 12 to November 10, so buyers can start downloading ahead of release.

What does this mean for pre-orders?

Anyone who has already ordered the physical edition from a shop should check with that retailer about collection or delivery around the new date. Rockstar has not said anything about how individual stores will handle existing orders.

GTA 6 is set to arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced.
