How we check our news
GTA 6 rumours spread fast. Here's exactly what has to happen before something goes on HeistMapper.
Official and trusted sources only
Stories go on the site when Rockstar, Take-Two, PlayStation or Xbox announce something, or when a trusted outlet like IGN, Eurogamer, GameSpot, Kotaku, VGC, Bloomberg or the BBC reports it.
Rumours are labelled
If a trusted outlet reports something Rockstar hasn't confirmed, the story carries an orange Unconfirmed label and says who reported it.
No random posts
A single post on X, Reddit or an unknown site never makes it onto HeistMapper by itself, however viral it is.
Sources on every story
Every news story links to the reports it's based on, so you can check them yourself.
Cheats and map pins are tested
We only add cheat codes and map locations once they've been checked in the game. We never guess.
How our newsroom works
Our news desk watches official channels and trusted gaming sites around the clock. Stories are written up automatically and checked against the rules above before they're published. Anything that only comes from social media is held back.
