GTA 6 pre-load begins November 10, Rockstar says
Rockstar has said that GTA 6 pre-load begins on November 10, nine days before the game launches on November 19. The studio shared the date on its website on 3 November 2026.
When can I pre-load GTA 6?
Pre-load for GTA 6 opens on November 10, Rockstar said on its website on 3 November 2026. That gives players nine days to download the game before it launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Pre-load means you can pull the game files onto your console ahead of release, so you are not stuck waiting on a long download on launch day. Rockstar has not said how big the download will be.
Which platforms can pre-load GTA 6?
The pre-load date applies to the two announced platforms, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC version, so there is no PC pre-load to talk about.
If you have already pre-ordered digitally, keep an eye on your console store around November 10. Rockstar has not given a time of day for when downloads go live.
What else has Rockstar said about launch?
The November 10 date is the main new detail. Rockstar has not shared a file size, a price for any edition beyond what stores list, or a time when the game unlocks on November 19.
We will add those details if Rockstar shares them.
What we're still waiting on
- Download file size
- Exact time pre-load and launch go live
- Whether a PC version will follow
