Sony has dropped prices on its Certified Refurbished PS5 consoles and bundles through PS Direct, as reported on 22 October 2026. The discounts arrive as players look to buy a console before GTA 6 launches on November 19.

What is Sony's refurbished PS5 deal?

Sony's PS Direct store has cut prices on its Certified Refurbished PS5 consoles. GamesRadar+ reports that you can save $40 when you buy an extra controller alongside the console. The Verge puts the bundle at an extra $18 for a second controller, and says the refurbished console comes with the same one-year warranty as a new one.

The Verge reports savings of up to $100 compared with paying full price at other retailers. These are Sony's own refurbished units, sold directly by the company.

Why buy a PS5 before GTA 6 comes out?

GTA 6 arrives on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Verge notes that plenty of people are picking up a PS5 ahead of that date.

If you are one of them, a refurbished console from Sony is one way to spend less. It is the same hardware with a warranty, rather than a used console from a stranger.

Is a PC version of GTA 6 coming?

No PC version has been announced. Rockstar has only confirmed PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for the November 19 launch, so a PlayStation or Xbox console is the way to play on day one.
