GTA 6 studio union could cover 1,600 staff, IWGB says

The Independent Workers of Great Britain has put a new number on its organising drive at Rockstar's UK studios. If the recognition vote goes the union's way, it says the bargaining unit could stretch to more than 1,600 workers.
According to Rock Paper Shotgun, the IWGB says that would take in nearly all UK staff below senior management. The figure is the clearest picture yet of how far the union's reach could go.
When is the Rockstar union vote?
The recognition vote is expected to land around the console launch of GTA 6 on 19 November. Staff at the UK studios have been working with the IWGB on the organising effort.
A recognition vote decides whether a union is formally acknowledged to speak for a group of workers in talks with the employer. The IWGB's new figure covers how many people could sit inside that group if staff back it.
What happens if the vote succeeds?
If workers vote for recognition, the union would represent the UK staff covered by the vote in discussions with Rockstar. The IWGB's claim suggests that group could be large, spanning most of the UK workforce below senior level.
