GTA 6 PC version may arrive sooner than expected, says ex-Rockstar dev

Obbe Vermeij, a former technical director at Rockstar North, has said publicly that an official GTA 6 PC version could arrive sooner than players expect. Eurogamer reported his comments on 6 November 2026, and Rockstar has not confirmed any PC release.

What did the ex-Rockstar developer say about GTA 6 on PC?

Obbe Vermeij, who was technical director at Rockstar North, has said he thinks an official PC version of GTA 6 could turn up sooner than most people are expecting. Eurogamer reported his comments on 6 November 2026.

His reasoning is unusual. He suggested that unofficial, quickly made PC ports, sometimes described as AI-generated or "vibe coded", could push Rockstar to put out its own PC version earlier than it otherwise might.

Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version of GTA 6, and no release date for one has been announced.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

So far, GTA 6 has only been announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release date of 19 November 2026. No PC version has been announced.

Vermeij's view is a prediction from a former staff member, not a plan Rockstar has shared. Treat it as a rumour until the company says otherwise.

Why players are watching for PC news

Rockstar's big games have often reached PC later than consoles, so players on PC have been waiting for any sign of a date. A comment like this from someone who worked at the studio will get attention, even though it doesn't change what has officially been announced.

For now, the only confirmed platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Any PC timing beyond that is speculation.
