GTA 6 makes The Game Awards 2026 cut-off by one day
Eurogamer reported on 15 October 2026 that GTA 6 makes The Game Awards 2026 eligibility window by just one day, thanks to its 19 November release date. Rockstar has not commented on any awards plans.
Is GTA 6 eligible for The Game Awards 2026?
According to Eurogamer, yes, but only just. A report on 15 October 2026 said the game's 19 November release date lands one day inside the window for this year's awards.
That means GTA 6 could be considered alongside the rest of 2026's releases rather than waiting for the following ceremony. Rockstar has not confirmed anything about eligibility or submissions.
What could GTA 6 be up against at The Game Awards 2026?
Eurogamer framed the question around Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and its record number of wins. Whether GTA 6 could match or beat that tally is the outlet's talking point, not a confirmed lineup.
Nominees and categories have not been announced, so any talk of GTA 6 winning awards is speculation for now.
When is GTA 6 out?
GTA 6 is set for release on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced.
The awards eligibility report changes nothing about the release date itself. It only concerns whether the game can be counted at this year's ceremony.
